ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Emory!

I'm a BS/MS honors student in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech (BS: Dec '27 | MS: Dec '28) with a 3.85 GPA. My academic and research interest lies in high-speed aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and compressible flow.

Lately, I’ve been diving deep into computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis- specifically focusing on nozzle architectures. Over the summer, I’ve been using ANSYS Fluent for high-fidelity nozzle simulation analysis and optimization, using MATLAB to post-process the data.

Beyond simulation, my SolidWorks (CSWP) certification and hands-on experience with machining (lathe/mill and CMM) ensure that my virtual models are always grounded in manufacturing reality. I’m excited to bring my computational analysis experience and practical intuition to an internship in aircraft design or aerodynamics and propulsion..

EXPERIENCE

AUGUST 2026 - PRESENT

Undergraduate Researcher - Ben T. Zinn Combustion Lab

PIV · High-Pressure Combustion

Modifying a high-pressure combustion vessel to integrate PIV diagnostics for capturing combustion acoustics in an RQL-style combustor with real front-end engine hardware. Supporting experimental setup, instrumentation, reacting-flow testing, and data analysis for engine-relevant combustion research.

MAY 2026 - AUG 2026

Aerospace Manufacturing Intern - Fabritek Aerospace Manufacturing (AS9100)

SolidWorks · Autocad · CMM · Mill/Lathe/CNC

Performed high‑precision inspection of aerospace components using Mitutoyo metrology tools and CMM systems, identifying program‑driven defects and preventing major scrap across high‑value orders. Improved laser‑engraving throughput by 6× through a redesigned fixture validated with time studies. Supported a customer‑facing machining project for a high‑speed rotating part, producing CAD/drawings, interpreting GD&T, and delivering the job ahead of schedule.

AUG 2024 - PRESENT

Structures Engineer - Georgia Tech Propulsive Landers

SolidWorks · MATLAB · ANSYS Fluent

Developed and optimized a 70 kg‑rated rocket landing gear meeting strict mass and terrain requirements, achieving a 24% mass reduction through geometry changes and topology‑inspired redesigns. Designed and tested TPU honeycomb footpads, printing 20+ prototypes and increasing energy absorption 5.2× via Instron testing and FEA‑guided shaping. Contributed to team design reviews with physical models and live CAD/FEA walkthroughs.
